About Masonry

Freemasonry is the world's largest and oldest fraternity. The goal of Freemasonry is to make good men better. Freemasons use the working tools of Operative Stonemasons to illustrate moral lessons during initiation Rituals and as reminders of those lessons. The core principals of Freemasonry are Brotherly Love, Truth and Relief.

Brotherly Love means we can count on each other. Not just within the Fraternity, but Brotherly Love of all mankind. Masons frequently dedicate themselves to service weather at the local, national or international level Freemasons put Brotherly Love into action for the good of all. Freemasons are the largest single group of blood donors in the US. Over $2,000,000 is donated to charity each day by the Masons. 70% of that money goes to non-Masonic organizations.

Truth to a Freemason means being honest in your words and deeds. Freemasons are known as "Square Dealers" in business and friendships. A Mason strives to lead by example and knows the path to Virtue must be one of Truth.

Relief at it's simplest is another word for charity. To a Mason it weaves Brotherly Love and Truth together into a way of life. Providing Relief can be a simple as a kind word or as public as assisting the victims of a disaster. Masons prefer to provide Relief quietly, without fanfare. When a challenged child needs a wheelchair, the local Lodge might provide one. When a Mason suffers an illnes, he may find his Lodge Brothers shovelling his driveway.
